Swapnali called me in a worried voice, saying, "Ma'am, I urgently need your appointment." She shared that her 12-year-old daughter, Sai, had witnessed a traumatic accident from the school bus window. Sai was very scared, unable to sleep, and crying. She wasn't ready to go to school or even leave the house.
Watching an accident can indeed be a traumatic experience.
Considering the criticality of the situation, very next day afternoon, I met Sai. She was lovely, smart, and empathetic but clearly disturbed and scared, not only of going to school but of going anywhere outside.
We have a structured approach to handling accident trauma release cases that go hand in hand with a therapist's intuition. Sai's talkative and dreamy nature helped me during this session. I used the method of watching a movie on the screen, which began from the time she left school to reaching the place where the accident happened to then finally meeting family members and friends.
While watching this mental movie along with her, I captured her various emotions, words and aura color changes. The session actually unfolded like watching and discussing the movie and releasing unnecessary takeaways from that movie. The session not only released her emotional, mental, and energetic charges but also helped her accept such situations. During the session, I realized that Sai was also disturbed by the way some senior students on the school bus had made fun of the serious situation.
The next day, Swapnali called with a relieved voice, saying, "Sai is off to school very happily."
Swapnali's timely decision not only helped Sai recover from the trauma but also helped her gain an understanding of how not to get stuck in the past by handling certain realities of life and moving on.
